Review: Hello Dear from Svelt St.

With a sensual female voice; mix of electronic beats, artificial rhythms, piano, classic bass; and a flowing male rapper to just name a few, Svelt St. brings justice to their proclaimed genre, “Trip Hop Electronic Folk.”

Throughout their new album, Hello Dear, you will almost feel that you are on a trippy ride stopping to visit some hip hop, electronic, then some soft tunes accompanied by piano and a soothing voice. What remains constant: the lyrics.

The lyrics are provocative. Anything from the singers talking in No Everything about Jesus helping a life long taxidermy ambition to a horribly sensual innuendo in “St. George”. I won’t go into details but, give it a listen and you might find yourself envying this duo.

Peace.
