If Arcade Fire & the Clash were 2 throw a warehouse party

As the subject line reads, the Press would be the sonic & performance result if the Arcade Fire & the Clash were to join forces & throw an after hours warehouse party. They definitely possess influences from bands like the Walkmen, Built to Spill, the New Pornographers & Of Montreal but like any great artists the Press let their influences guide them and not define them. Their new album due out this spring was recorded at the Fort in Brooklyn with the intention of of creating songs that are as natural & logical as they are unexpected. All the songs are very different but with a sonic & lyrical through line for fans that appreciate listening to actual albums. Check out this 2 tracks, they will be released on a 7″ in March.

New Say Hi music: Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

The song, “Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh,” is a propulsive indie pop affair, built out of synth brass, strummed acoustic strings, and sleek guitar accents – a stark contrast to the subdued, world-weariness of “November Was White, December Was Grey,” which was premiered last month on Spin.com. Recorded at his home studio throughout 2008, Oohs & Aahs, is the first release from Eric Elbogen since moving to Seattle & signing to Barsuk.
