Pooma, produced by Gunnar Örn Tynes of Múm

Already founded in 2000 Helsinki based Pooma is one of the best kept secrets of finnish music. Their mesmerizing mixture of shoegaze-pop, electronica & majestic strings has evoked comparisons to the likes of Sigur Rós, Múm and Mew, but as they come from Finland they take the scandinavian melancholy even a step further.

Their debut album, Persuader, was produced & partly mixed by Gunnar Örn Tynes of the icelandic band Múm, and released in Finland last year. Unfortunately the band’s finnish record label was closed down very shortly after the release of the album, so the work for the release outside Finland is only now starting. Serve yourself with some exquisite tunes. The whole thing is on iTunes now.
