New Passion Pit song: Moth’s Wings

Brand new song from the Cambridge, Mass., electropop outfit led by Michael Angelakos. The song belongs to Manners, their debut LP which is being released on May 19.

“Moth’s Wings” is one tricky song but in a good way. It starts peacefully, then builds up and when it hits the chorus, its prime; you’re already on the ride. Its complexity is based on the multiple contrasts, well managed throughout the song, leading to its majestic end, with a canon of melodic “lalalas”, concluding with wind chimes that bring you back to the peaceful starting point.

Don’t forget about the remix contest that they have going on! It’s a still-under-wraps track from Manners, offering up stem snippets of “Little Secrets”. The band has asked fans to download their own special clip, trade with other participating musicians & remixers, & build their own songs around the pieces. Fans will vote for their ten favorites until May 15th. After voting closes, Passion Pit will pick 5 remixes to be released along with a special vinyl version of “Little Secrets,” while the 5 runners up will receive a copy of the vinyl & a signed CD of Manners. Good luck!
