Parisian duo Priors are a band with a distinctly different outlook on life, so when Yann Destal sings “Nothing’s painful, our minds are open, we’ll survive, nothing’s dangerous, nothing lies” on the impossibly uplifting first single “What You Need”, he’s singing much more than the obvious words of love. Joining Yann in Priors is Raw Man, & the pair, as their chosen moniker suggests, look back to when things were a little more, well, naïve. As Raw Man says:

“to live with a child’s outlook on life – where nothing is impossible, you don’t know if you can fly or not – that’s Priors.”

Yann, the voice of Priors, will be familiar to anyone who turned on a radio in 2000, as his first band, Modjo, had a huge hit single with “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”, in the process becoming the 1st French group to score a UK #1 single. As well as Modjo’s success giving validation to Yann’s dreams of a musician’s life, it also indirectly led full circle to Priors, because it was Yann’s partner in Modjo who introduced him to Raw Man. At that time, Raw Man was in Buffalo Bunch with a guy called Play Paul, whose parents know him as Paul De Homem-Christo, younger brother of Daft Punk’s Guy. Buffalo Bunch carved quite a name for themselves with their remixes of big name acts such as; Basement Jaxx, Bebel Gilberto & Audio Bullys.

Priors, “What You Need” is a classic track which is the Soundtrack of your Summer, with support from Radio 1’s Pete Tong, club DJ’s Ashley Beedle, Grum, Louis La Roche, DJ Pippi, etc. Due to be backed with exciting remixes from Van She Tech, Michael Gray & a special mix to be announced.
