New video from Tigers That Talked: Black Heart, Blue Eyes

That damn kid on the thumbnail scares the shit out me… he looks like one of those kids from horror movies. Beautiful video though, directed by Phil Hawkins. Anyway, Tigers That Talked is this band from Leeds & “Black Heart, Blue Eyes” is the new single from their upcoming debut EP with the same title out next month on the 8th.

This is what the lead singer Jamie has to say about the video:

“The video is examining the idea of what’s happening beneath the surface of coastal towns, looking past the faded glamour to it’s people & societies, as well as focusing on the darker sides to life by the sea. Blackpool seemed to have the perfect juxtaposition of tourist orientated ‘glitz’ and the more unsettling, threatening atmosphere that the song discusses. The idea of the band playing at the British Legion came from the director Phil wanting to give a sense of us being in the wrong place and context and capturing the uneasiness of situation. A lot of the band footage in the video was actually shot during a live set that we did in the British Legion talent show that afternoon, which was certainly one our weirdest gigs & crowds ever!

I think an octogenarian crooner with farsifa organ accompaniment called Fred was victorious, if I remember correctly. Definately a fix, we should have had it in the bag…”
