How many instruments to do you play?

I play the vocal chords like nobody’s business…

Worst live show experience?

At The Abbey in Chicago, there were 200 people in the audience for me when I was the opening act. During the set, about half of them turned around and went back to the bar. It taught me to put on a very, very good live show, instead of a not so good one.

First record you ever bought and where did you buy it?

Michael Jackson – Bad. It was the first tape I ever bought for my Walkman, and I bought it at Payless. I was a pretty hard kid…

Last illegal download?

Annie Lennox – Walking on Broken Glass. I’m feeling sort of mid-90’s today.

What are you listening to right now?

My inner monologue. It’s like listening to a really unsunspenseful book on tape…

What posters did you have on your wall as a kid?

Shawn Kemp dunking over Shawn Bradley, Ken Griffey Jr. making an amazing catch, and a Mandy Moore life-size, cardboard standee.

My lyric book and stack of Pilot G2 pens.

Whatever’s on tap…usually water, because I’m lame like that…

Stupidest thing you’ve done in the last 12 months?

Fronted money for a promoter that said they would “pay me back…”

… a spaceship with a crew of 4 crashes down on a distant planet. One of the crewmembers dies, and the other 3 head out to explore. They then find intelligent apes inhabit the planet. Two of the men are killed. The other, Alexipharmic, befriends some of the apes but is feared by most. After being put through ape trial he escapes with a female human native, Megan Fox, to the planet. After helping his ape friends escape a religious heresy trial he escapes out into the wilderness with the female, and the two make sweet, passionate love. There he learns the planet might not be so distant after all, but the companionship he was longing for was right under his nose the whole time…
