Julian Casablancas announces solo album

Julian Casablancas, founding member of The Strokes, is set to release a solo album! The Strokes haven’t released an album since 2006, but Julian has kept busy nonetheless.

Entitled Phrazes for the Young, it’s coming out this fall on his own label, Cult Records.

The album features all new material written by Casablancas. Full track-listing hasn’t been revealed yet. It will include 8 songs that were written & recorded over the last 12 months with studio work completed in Los Angeles, New York City & Nebraska. The project was produced by Jason Lader with additional production by Mike Mogis. Some track titles are “River of Brake Lights,” “Glass” & “Ludlow St.”

The video above was unleashed this morning, it’s just a tiny album preview. Stay tuned, the man is planning a solo tour of the states to coincide with the album’s release.
