Last week I introduced & featured an exclusive stream from the Canadian rap/soul duo Two Crown King. I listened to their single the entire weekend so I decided to send some Qs over to Sean & Dick so we can get to know them better.

Describe Two Crown King in 3 words…

Dos cholos locos.

How many instruments to do you play?

Play? A few. Play well, none. Actually that’s not entirely true. Sean is a pretty dope dummer and Dick knows his way around a piano. This is how most of the writing takes place.

Worst live show experience?

Before Two Crown King was officially formed we entered a local Battle Of The Bands and played three rounds, each time with a different name. At that point, we were only concerned with trying our songs in a live venue to see how they were receieved. We placed second and the reaction was great but none of our new fans knew what band name to Google when they got home.

First record you ever bought and where did you buy it?

Sean: Naughty By Nature’s debut album. Bought from Musicworld.

Adam: Ice T’s The Iceberg/Freedom Of Speech…Just Watch What You Say. Stolen from the public library.

Last illegal download?

Sean: Not sure of my last but I want my next to by my own.

Dick: I recorded “It Takes My Breath” from OkayCity’s MySpace. Shhhh.

What are you listening to right now?

Sean: Brother Ali, Raphael Saadiq, Portugal The Man. Muse.

Dick: Rise Against; The Sufferer And The Witness. Shad; The Old Prince.

What posters did you have on your wall as a kid?

Sean: G’nF’nR. Life size Kelly Gruber.

Dick: I moved around every six months so I never had any time to put posters up. I’m pretty sure there’s a Porsche 911 somewhere in my memory though. Wow. That’s pathetic.

Name one song you’d hate to have stuck in your head.

Sean: Anything by Lil’ Wayne.

Dick: Any one of the thousand terrible songs that my friend Cris Cervoni makes me listen to in his Mustang.

Name 3 things you need when you travel.

Sean: iPod. Chuck Palahniuk’s latest book. Digital camera.

Dick: Passport. iPod. Domes; incase there’s a water balloon fight.

What is your favorite thing you own?

Sean: My record collection.

Dick: Autographed Joe Theisman football helmet and Cliton Portis football. Thanks Out Back Shack staff!

When you are out on the town, what is your drink of choice?

Both: Tanqueray & 7up.

Stupidest thing you’ve done in the last 12 months?

Sean: Finished inside. Or that corner store ice cream I ate. Dammit, I knew it was bad but who can turn down ice cream?

Dick: Baby elephant walk.

Complete this sentence: In the future…

Both: …we will go back in time to make sure that our Dad’s fall in love with our Mom’s before we completely disappear at The Enchantment Under The Sea dance. Also, we’re planning a road trip to Hollywood, Florida to enact revenge on Billy Mitchell on behalf of Steve Weibe and all that is right. It’s time to bring the tough kids to justice!

Tell us a fact about yourself that probably nobody knows.

Sean: My biggest pet peeve is that nobody realizes the fundamental difference between Star Wars and Star Trek. (One is a lifelong journey, the other is a continuing saga)

Dick: Everytime I’ve said that I didn’t, I did.

What’s next?

Adam: Full length album. Supporting tour. Incredible live show. Being big in Japan.

Sean: Forgetting all the small people we stepped on to get here.
