New video from U.S. Royalty: Every Summer

NYC label Engine Room Recordings is excited to announce the addition of Washington D.C.’s, U.S. Royalty to its roster. U.S. Royalty are set to release their debut EP, Midsommar, both digitally tomorrow & as a 7″on October 6th. The digital download of Midsommar will also include a bonus track, a remix of “Keep It Cool” by Bo Flex (Passion Pit).

U.S. Royalty’s energetic live shows & upbeat tunes have established the band’s reputation as a solid live act. Washington Post reviewed a recent show and says: “While the band incorporated girl-group rhythms, folk-rock “ooh-oohs” and music-hall piano, its broader moments drew mostly from Southern boogie-rock. […] The vibrant performance explained the Royalty’s accelerating buzz.”

Birthed from the lifelong musical collaboration of brothers John (vocals, piano) & Paul Thornley (guitar), U.S. Royalty was formed in 2007. After adding drummer Luke Adams & bassist Jacob Michael, the quartet began playing increasingly packed shows with the likes of Art Brut, White Rabbits, OK Go, & Cut Off Your Hands. With a collection of new songs, U.S. Royalty headed into Inner Ear Studios & Red Wire Audio in Washington D.C. The resulting Midsommar EP is full of the band’s well-crafted, soul-tinged stompers.

Now enjoy the video & mp3 of “Every Summer” (featured on the Midsommar), directed by Jake Davis (The Hold Steady, My Chemical Romance).
