Say hello to Alan Wilkis

Brooklyn-based producer & multi-instrumentalist, Alan Wilkis released his EP Pink & Purple back on June. Composed of 6 songs stuffed with 808s, vintage synths, vocoders, handclaps, hooks, & harmonies, P&P is an eclectic romp through the FM airwaves of the 1980s.
Home-recorded from June ’08 to February ’09, Pink & Purple is Wilkis’ sophomore release. On it, he continues to explore his unique genre-bending aesthetic, crafting a sound that is at once familiar & yet entirely his own, with influences ranging from Prince & Rick James to Steve Winwood & Madonna.
Yesterday I got this nice remix of “N.I.C.E.” (track from P&P) by Berlin’s Jack Tennis. If you are craving for more, head over to Wilkis’ site, he’s giving away other FREE remixes of his songs.
