Montreal-based DJ & electronic artist CFCF (aka Michael Silver) is preparing for the release of his first full-length debut album, Continent, on Paper Bag Records. The 12-track album is the follow-up to his celebrated Panesian Nights EP, & will be released on October 27th. As CFCF works his way towards Continent, he will first release, The Explorers EP, featuring label mate Sally Shapiro on October 6th.

The songs that make up Continent were created at Silver’s home studio between the fall of 2008 & this summer with no hard deadlines for their completion. This gave Silver the opportunity to allow his ever-changing listening habits & influences reflect in the songs. The end result is an album that shifts effortlessly between several styles & sounds while fitting together as a diverse but cohesive package. There is common theme running through Continent’s songs even if it is not easy to pinpoint or describe.

The Montreal native has been creating tracks since his pre-teens & has only begun to present his music publicly in the last couple of years. CFCF’s career began to take off with his contest winning remix of Crystal Castles “Air War” & has followed up with a chain reaction of official remixes for talents such as Sally Shapiro, The Presets, HEALTH, The Teenagers & Hearts Revolution among many others.
