Q&As with AudioFun

AudioFun are a boy/girl electronic duo originally from Northern Ireland but now based in Manchester. It all started in early 2009 when Corry & Da Costa teamed up, mashed up & smashed up some local club nights with their unique DJ performance. This led to their decision to focus on & develop Audiofun.
These are 2 talented youngsters, keep an eye on them & check out the Qs that both of them responded. Oh &, Southern Fried just released a remix they did of “Jack Track” from Tonka, out now on Beatport.

- Da Costa: I am still am a kid so… Scarface, Goodfellas, Godfather and captain Foxy himself… The Hoff (in his underwear).

Corry: Anything by Sugababes or Flo-rida.
007. Name 3 things you need when you travel.
- Da Costa: My phone is glued to my hand 24/7, so that’s an essential. Couldn’t forget my straighteners either because I would be running round looking like a throw back from the seventies with a wee afro. I also think that a map or a phrase book is a necessesity…. Especially if like myself you have a tendency to get lost or have a difficult dialect
Corry: Laptop, charger and clothes obviously
008. What is your favorite thing you own?
- Da Costa: My eyes
Corry: My MacBook – I do everything on it. All our productions come from it and we play out with it. Our studio setup is very basic. Soundcard, monitors, MacBook and a Midi Keyboard.

011. Which song do you think the audience reacts to/enjoys most?
- Da Costa: ‘Drop It’ definately is a happening sound! I think it’s more than ample for encouraging a bit of Booty Shaking and Board Breaking out on the floor!
012. Where in the world have you had your most memorable moments playing live?
- Da Costa: well honestly am still a wee kid.. so getting my A- Level results, passing and playing at RedRooms(Derry, where I hold a residency) for the Results Party was awesome!!! Dressing up as a sexy school girl, getting hammered and playing groovy beats…..so wrong, its right!!
Corry: Yea “Drop It” always goes down really well!
013. What does AudioFun do right before a show? Any rituals?
- Da Costa: Probably argue with one another… I have to have my constant fix of cigarettes and cherry chewing gum aswell though
Corry: Short stuff over here doesn’t deal with pressure the best so regardless of how many gigs she’s done she gets a bit tense and volatile before shows. She’s a right wee diva!
014. Stupidest thing you’ve done in the last 12 months?
- Da Costa: So many incidents so little time …. Probably getting drunk the night before sitting my exams, or dropping my phone down a toilet in a bar, or letting my laptop over heat and die …. Just to mention a few from the past couple of weeks!
Corry: I accidentally cleared my hard drive when drunk one night at house party. Everything and I mean everything was gone. Unfinished tracks, remix masters, all music. I now backup all the time!
015. What’s next?
- Corry: We’re working on a few remixes for some great artists, we’ve lots of gigs coming up throughout the UK, releases coming out on “Southern Fried Records” and “On The Brink Records” and so we will keep firing out the originals. We have given the last 2 away for free on blogs and myspace but we will get more signed stuff out there from now on.
Da Costa: Obviously getting my music hat on and getting my study cap on too at university… Foxtastic!!!
End.
