Say hello to Questions

Here’s a cool kid from LA that wants to say hi. I’ll let him introduce himself:
“My name is Stephen, I’m 21 years old, and I’m a Los Angeles based producer and DJ determined to keep the currently thriving hipster scene evolving. I enjoy making music that draws from what’s currently being done, but that strays a bit in a less familiar direction. I’m a big fan of carelessness, and I believe there are few things in life that compare to the feeling one gets from midnight hour energy in a packed house, which naturally draws me toward artists like Rusko and Steve Aoki (who are known for doing absolutely anything that makes for a good party, regardless of how ridiculous it might be), but as far as influences go, many of the more solemn and melancholy artists of late are more deeply rooted in my soul. (Shadow, Flying Lotus, Kraftwerk, Trentemoller).

I had a lot of trouble making a myspace page, due to the requirement that I pick a genre. The music I make has roots in so many genres across the board that there’s no way I could ever stick to one, although I can say that it’d be difficult for me to work without a decent kick drum.

I guess the only thing one can really expect from my tracks is that they provide for something more than just a tune. I believe music should make a person feel a particular emotion, whether it’s a powerful burst of life, or simply some fleeting nostalgia, which is what led me to the name. Music is not about what you already know, and what you’ve already heard. It’s about the questions that a really good piece makes you want to ask.”
