The Frequency

Austin’s Psych Fest is taking place next weekend at the Mohawk. The festival showcases the best of vintage, modern, established and up & coming acts that push the envelope in mind expanding music. This weekend’s event, features several exciting artists like the Raveonettes, Indian Jewelry, Headdress, The Black Angles & Voices Voices to name a few, but there’s one particular act that I’m really looking forward on seeing, The Frequency.

The Frequency is a psychedelic rock duo from Los Angeles formed by Marc Cazorla & Alex Stiff who use an array of analog & vintage instruments to create their sounds. They recently signed a worldwide publishing deal with Chrysalis Music in the UK & the song “Jim Gordon Part II” has been heard all over the globe due to being licensed for a year-long Blackberry television commercial campaign. Inspired by the music from Pink Floyd, Can & Spiritualized, the live show adds another level of intensity to the music. Be sure to check them out this Saturday at the inside stage at the Mohawk, 8:30p sharp!
