PRISON for kids (nsfw)

Prison for Kids is the bedroom-closet-rock duo of Christopher Dreisbach & César Ochoa hailing from, arguably, the least dangerous town (St. Johnsbury, Vermont) & most dangerous city (Ciudad Juárez) respectively. The 2 met as directing students at the American Film Institute Conservatory in 2008 & quickly united over their mutual passion for both the caustic, dissonant & delicate, ethereal spectrum of rock ‘n’ roll. After recording dozens of lo-fi demos with cheap acoustic guitars & kitchen utensils the Kids’ first “proper” sessions came in 2010, recording songs for Ochoa’s short film KILL KITTY KILL. Now ensconced in Los Angeles, Dreisbach & Ochoa continue to evolve their old material & forge new sounds in the spirit of Patti Smith’s ethos: “… often contradiction is the clearest way to truth.

The duo just signed to Mountain Fighting records & their first single/video is titled “Long Gone”. The clip captures breathtaking cruelty & beauty – an acoustic song that sounds like it could sit comfortably along-side Atlas Sound & Bradford Cox’s more subdued moments. The video’s violent & surprising ending, showcase’s director Adam Cosco’s pension for beauty & brutality.
