One of my favorite bands, Crystal Fighters, just gave me the hot tip that their latest single, “Champion Sound”, has received the remix treatment by several producers around the globe. I have a couple of them for you to download & play on repeat! The 1st one is a dubstep gem courtesy of Belgian rising band, Addicted Kru Sound or AKS for short. Then Brighton, UK based trio, Regal Safari & last but not least, London’s young DJ duo, STEEP.

After being slowly handcrafted over the past year, Portugal’s Buraka Som Sistema return with their much anticipated sophomore album, Komba: an exploration of the borders between life & death combined with Buraka’s fierce dance music approach.

BSS will be hitting N. America again for a handful of East coast dates in January, including a headlining show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, & the epic Holy Ship Festival featuring the likes of Diplo, Gina Turner, A-Trak, + more. With plans to return to the US in the Spring, it’s clear that Buraka Som Sistema are just getting started back up once again.

Last month Aussie record label, Modular, launched a new imprint, Club Mod – a 12″ & digital series aimed squarely at dance-floors.

The 1st cab off the rank is Norwegian outfit, 120 Days, with the single “Osaka”. 120 Days is a 4-piece from Oslo who released an acclaimed self-titled record in 2006. In the time since, the band has been developing & honing a sound, the first taste of which is “Osaka”, is a brooding, tribal, baggy acid beast reminiscent of UNKLE.
