Are you ready to testify?

Alec Empire explains: “So we came up with this concept for the Black Flags video and it was pretty rad, but when members of the legendary hacker group Anonymous got in touch because they wanted to participate, the whole thing went from DIY punkrock to super awesome. Some snobbish journalists didn’t understand what we were talking about on the new album. Since the London riots and San Fransisco BART operation, it’s different. The video contains only footage that fans, friends and Anonymous send us. People did the black flag corpsing/Silent protesting in the weirdest places. In front of nuclear powerplants, in shopping malls, in places that are not allowed for the public. This is the first edit, this video will never be finished really. We keep adding more clips from fans. Get involved!”

Atari Teenage Riot’s “Black Flags” package is out now with remixes by Tony Senghore, Nom De Strip, Dan Oh, Taku Takahashi, Whiiite + many more. You can download the single “Black Flags”, which is a different version from the one featured on the album, as a free MP3 on Mr. Empire’s soundcloud page (+ many other tracks & remixes).

I just got word from Alec that the 2nd edit of “Black Flags” feat. Boot Riley is out now! Click HERE to check it out!

P.S. The band just returned from their USA tour & jumped right into a shit load of amazing shows in Europe & Japan. Confirmed dates & venues after the awesome remixes below.

There’s a killer loose in the forest

I have 2 sick goodies for y’all but before that let me tell you a story. You’re probably thinking WTF with the Wolverine image above, well I went to an antique store this weekend & found all sorts of old comic books, most of them DC & Marvel from 1986-1995. I found the one above & told to myself, this looks kinda old & badass, I bet it costs something. So I bought it for $10 bucks, got home and looked it up online…some places are selling for $200!

Anyway, that was it. Enjoy Zeds Death’s latest track & a remix of Mustard Pimp’s upcoming single featuring Alec Empire from Atari Teenage Riot (out 09.20)!

Blood in my eyes

Atari Teenage Riot release their new single, “Blood In My Eyes”, through Digital Hardcore Recordings as a teaser for the band’s forthcoming album, Is This Hyperreal?.

“Blood In My Eyes” features Nic Endo on lead vocal. She speaks out for the multitude of women who have become the victims of human trafficking, their sexuality exploited for financial gain right under the gaze of the ineffectual governments of the self-proclaimed civilised west. Nic, wholly in tune with her trademark Japanese face-paint depicting “Resistance,” makes her point in the inimitable Atari way.

This song is a riveting electronic punk rock diatribe, paying homage to the feminine retributive subtexts espoused by cult films like Kill Bill & heavily censored French art-house offering, Baise-Moi.

Nic expounds a cautionary tale, alerting us that all who stand by & do nothing share the guilt.

With its straight-forward throbbing 909 drum machine patterns, massive guitar riffs, ear-splitting adrenaline rushes of noise & powerful female vocals, Blood In My Eyes” charges down an unswerving path determined to confront the future head on.
