British multi-instrumentalist & songwriter Catherine A.D. is currently preparing for her very 1st festival show at Latitude. She’ll be playing the Sunrise Arena on Sunday July 19th at 5pm but thought on taking a short break to share her new project, a series of remixes of new tracks of hers.

This first one, “Hand to The Tide” has been exquisitely reworked by Sunday Times & Uncut favorites Sweet Billy Pilgrim. Some lovely banjo & other tinkering were included.

Multi-instrumentalist Catherine A.D. will be releasing a limited edition EP in February 2009 ahead of her noir-pop debut album, which is currently being produced by Bernard Butler (Suede, Duffy, The Cribs) and Liam Howe (Sneaker Pimps).

Describing her Patrick Wolf/Kate Bush-inspired confessionalism as “pirate radio for the heartbreak”, Catherine’s music doesn’t just quiver under the covers like the recent slew of female singer-songwriters. Instead Miss A.D. packs the life-affirming epic punch of Nick Cave, Jeff Buckley and The National alongside her softer moments that showcase a voice which even Courtney Love has described as “gorgeous sick beautiful”.

The lead track “Carry Your Heart” is an epic riff on an e.e. cummings poem and the EP also features a cover of The Magnetic Fields track “The Book of Love”. Released via Outsiderhood on February 9th as a limited edition, ribbon-wrapped package, the EP additionally includes a guide to making a cute origami dove.
