Green Label Sound SXSW showcase

SXSW is just around the corner, so I guess is about that time I should start posting flyers or something about the events I’m planning to attend or that you should not missed by any means.

Green Label Sound is pleased to announce that it will once again host an official showcase. The party is on Friday, March 19th at Club de Ville & will feature performances from Ra Ra Riot, Theophilus London, Tanlines, Solid Gold, & the newest Green Label Sound signing Neon Indian. LA-based DJ/production duo Classixx, who remixed the Green Label Sound Holy Ghost! single “I Will Come Back,” will be DJing throughout the night. Doors for the event open at 8:30pm & the showcase is open to SXSW badge-holders.

Green Label Sound is also excited to announce their first 2010 single release by electro-pop indie band Neon Indian. The single will be available for free download this week on Wednesday exclusively at GLS’s website. This will be the first release since Neon Indian’s critically heralded debut album, Psychic Chasms.

Sampler after the jump.

Groove Armada announces spring US dates

Andy Cato & Tom Findlay, better known as Groove Armada, have announced a spring U.S. tour in support of Black Light, their 6th studio album releasing March 2nd via Om Records. The tour will find them dropping by the U.S. for multiple dates in New York, California, & Florida, including appearances on Morning Becomes Electric & at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami (all dates after the jump). The highly anticipated Black Light sees the duo stepping in bold new directions & featuring an impressive list of guest artists, including silky smooth guest vocals from Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry on the single “Shameless,” vocal turns from Kate Bush-evoking chanteuse SaintSaviour, and appearances on several tracks from Nick Littlemore of the Aussie electronic sensation Empire of the Sun.

Prolific remixer Classixx has produced a light & playful remix of Black Light highlight “Paper Romance,” replacing the hard four-to-the-floor of the original track with bubbling synths, softly skittering drums, & delicate, swooning guitars that bring out the passionate vocal takes from SaintSavior & Fenech-Soler. Check it out:
