Darkness on the Edge of Gastown

Prior to 2009′s critically acclaimed full-length Post-Nothing, Japandroids released two 5-song EPs (All Lies & Lullaby Death Jams) on CD-R. The EPs were limited to 500 copies each & quickly fell out of print.

No Singles compiles these two EPs into one album. Meticulous packaging designed by the band includes a 32-page booklet detailing Japandroids’ early history, including rare photos & show fliers.

Japandroids joins Polyvinyl

Japandroids is a 2 piece band from Vancouver, BC. This band started in 2006 as a creative outlet for the post-teenage angst of Brian King & David Prowse. Originally intending to be a trio, the boys decided to forgo the logistical nightmare of having a lead singer & do it themselves. As a consequence, Japandroids are 1 guitar, 1 set of drums, and 2 vocalizers. They call it garage rock. They don’t care what you call it, as long as it’s not minimal. Japandroids are maximal – a 2 piece band trying to sound like a 5 piece band.

The 2 dudes just signed to American label Polyvinyl Records & will be releasing a new LP titled Post-Nothing on July 24th. If you totally digg the tune below & wish for more, pre-orders are available now with an instant download of the album.
