The legendary forgotten sessions of The Brighton Port Authority were recently uncovered much to the surprise of The Chairman of The BPA, Norman Cook (Fat Boy Slim) and his long standing studio partner Simon Thornton.

The tapes had been sitting in a disused warehouse space and discovered as the building was to be knocked down. This is genre bending music that was ahead of it s time and features collaborations with Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Jamie T, Martha Wainwright and Dizzee Rascal, amongst many others creating nothing short of a historic masterpiece.

Now these legendary sessions are about to be released worldwide on an album titled I Think We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat. Release dates vary a bit depending on which part of the globe you frequent… keep an eye on The BPA Myspace for full details. Meanwhile, if you live in the USA, you are the first to be able to buy the album on CD. It’s available exclusively from Amazon USA now!

In anticipation of The BPA’s upcoming album, I Think We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat (out on February), the crew decided to have some more fun with the project! So, here it is the newest of The BPA contests: Dig My Toe Jam (Video Contest).

We all went crazy this summer with the incredibly novel “Toe Jam” video, so here’s a chance for everyone to crack out their video/editing skill set and figure out a new, creative frame for Cook, Byrne and Dizzee to do their Toe Jam. So, head on over to the Dailymotion and check out the details!
